Details as we have them right now. It is February 9 - 11 at the Rose Villa Retreat in Laingsburg, MI. We can get into the building at 8 am on Friday and have until 6 pm on Sunday. Sleeping quarters, bedding and towels are included in the fee and are in the same building where we sew. Handicap accessible. There are 8 sewing slots, but only 7 sleeping spots (I take one of them- LOL). FOUR of the sewing spots have already been spoken for. There is a daily drive in fee of $42.40 for those who live close enough to drive back and forth (you don't pay the Rose Villa weekend fee). This is a savings for those who can't come on Friday and can drive back and forth.
As of right now, we will be doing my back zip horsemanship pattern. I will be giving details as to what fabric to purchase. The shirt should be partially completed - zipper installed, front and back sewn together. Collar/Collar stand sewn together. but not on shirt. Sleeves separate. I will give details of what and how much ultra suede and rhinestones/supplies to purchase. I will be offering a kit which includes everything so a person doesn't even have to go shopping if they'd just rather purchase the kit.
Everyone is required to do the same shirt, in the same fabric, but can choose their color. Everyone will be required to do the same design - but again, can choose their own colors.
Friday is more of a "gathering day" - everyone arrives when they can. I have one gal driving in from Wisconsin. Some people have to wait and come after work or get out of work early. We have a pizza "party" at 5 which is when everyone should be there and we do a meet and greet.
Saturday we will be learning the different techniques and supplies used for attaching applique. I will have sample fabrics to experiment on so that attendees can chose their preferred method of application. Then they will sew the applique onto their shirt. (yes, bring your sewing machine - a supplies list will be provided) If we have progressed far enough during the day, and if attendees want to, we have supper at the bar across the street. (everyone pays for their own meal)
Sunday begins much the same. Demonstration of how to apply rhinestones and the different ways to do so. Again, a sample fabric will be supplied to experiement on. Then attendees will spend the day glueing their rhinestones on.
Meals are pot luck. Everyone contributes their choice of a meal, dessert, snack, water, pop, etc. and take turns "fixing" the meal. Crock pot meals are welcome and encouraged. The less time needed for fussing and cooking, the better.
I will be putting this on my website. I'm offering Paypal invoicing with installment payment option so you can book now but pay over time. This avoids having to pay for the retreat right after Thanksgiving and Christmas. If the retreat fill up, there are other dates in February which are available (at this time) and I can book a second retreat. As soon as I fix the details on my website, I'll post a link here.
Please read the cancellation policy carefully. I have no control over Rose Villa's cancellation policy.
